Yesterday You Said Tomorrow, Just Do It.

Did I tell you that the "Yesterday You Said Tomorrow, Just Do It" has been my wallpaper for-like-ever now?
Sooo, as I was running super late for a lecture the other day, the following words from Nike's new AD repeated in my head "If you can run late, run the block" and that's exactly what I did, RUN! Coincidentally, I was wearing my Nike ROSHE RUN's which are my current soulmates, they're the best running shoes ever! The best properties such as the flexibility, not to mention the added bonus of them being so aesthetically pleasing, make them a winner! I wore them to LFW SS14 day 2, and the amount of people that asked about them was cray! If you know me, you know I'm either in heels or trainers (sneakers) - that's it. In other words, all my shoes have at least an inch platform on them! This is not because I'm a shaaawty, it's simply just what I love :)
I've always loved Nike. I've got two brothers (and a sister), all from the 90s. When we weren't playing our Nintendo 64 or Super Nintendo, or arguing who got to be Mario or Luigi or who got the yellow control or red control, we were all on our one obese (morbidly) PC researching the latest Nike's that were coming out and adding it to our Christmas and birthday lists. I remember getting my first Nike Air Dunks, they were pink. My first total 90s, they were red and white. My first Air Force 1's were black and white. I got the Platinium colourway of the Yeezy's. I've also collected my fair share of Air Jordan's over the years. All of this before the sports luxe "trend" came, #justsaying haha. Feel free to take a look at some seriously cringey throwbacks I found!
A fresh pair of Nike's, the feeling never gets old and it's amazing how inspirational and symbolic one brand can be. Other than their constant bouts of inspiration, the "Just Do It" slogan is one that motivates me. Everyone who knows me always say I'm so motivational (they're super sweet), I really do try to encourage people to be the best they can be. That being said, I absolutely adore Nike's new AD, The ad features j-j-j-JESSIE J stomp stomp I've arrived.. drop the.. whoops got a bit distracted there! It also has the talented Barcelona football player Pique in it. All in all, ever feel demotivated but need to get something done? JDI.
This "Endless Possibilities" video continues to mark Just Do It's 25th year, celebrating every woman who has pushed her limits and embraced her potential. Everyday, I wake up, take a look at my phone's wallpaper, feel motivated and ultimately.. Just Do It. Not too long again I just did London Fashion Week and as a bonus for you lovely people, I've included some miscellaneous clips from LFW, cringe and all!
Myself & Lady Wilma from Style Foqus - watch my interview on their youtube. |
Myself & LFW designer Tahir Sultan - see the coverage on Hashtag Fash. |
After last LFW show of Day 2, showing you our statement tees! |
THE cutest puppy strutting down Somerset House. Yup he loved my Nike's. |
Random Fact - the Nike tick swoosh was designed by a woman. Her name is Carolyn Davidson and she was a college student at the time! Random Question - do you pronounce Nike as "Ni-Key" or "Nyke"? Let me know!
